Poppy was a loving caregiver to Meme for 10 years at home. He once described how lucky he was to care for Meme--"I'm the only guy in town who gets to sleep on clean sheets every night!" He never complained or felt sorry for himself. He was unselfish and was always hopeful that Mary would regain some of her cognitive function.
